Job Description

Shake Shack is a renowned hospitality brand that began as a humble hot dog cart in New York City's Madison Square Park, founded by Danny Meyer, the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains known for its commitment to high-quality food, exceptional hospitality, and community engagement. Shake Shack's mission is to Stand For Something Good, which reflects in their dedication to doing the right thing not only for their customers but also for their employees and the neighborhoods they serve. This ethos creates a positive, inclusive, and vibrant work environment where team members, known as the #ShackFam, have ample opportunities for professional growth and development. Employees benefit from hands-on mentorship, comprehensive training programs, and are encouraged to make a meaningful impact within the company and the communities they operate in.

This role is for a Full-Time Shift Manager position at the Shake Shack located at 1700 Broadway, New York, NY. The position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $21 to $25, with an added premium of $2/hour for shifts worked after midnight. You will be responsible for directing and motivating a high-performing team of hourly workers, fostering a supportive and efficient working environment. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Shift Manager may also assist with operational support tasks such as purchasing, receiving, and inventory management, contributing to the smooth running of the restaurant.

Moreover, the Shift Manager is encouraged to participate in the recruitment process by interviewing potential applicants and assisting in managing employee relations, which helps in maintaining a strong and cohesive team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with restaurant leadership experience who thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused atmosphere and are passionate about mentoring others and driving team success. Shake Shack is deeply committed to diversity and inclusivity, ensuring all employees are treated with respect and given equal opportunities regardless of their background.
