Currently, HMSHost is seeking experienced Restaurant Shift Managers for immediate full-time positions at JFK Airport. These roles provide an exciting opportunity for hospitality professionals specializing in fast-paced, high-volume environments, who are passionate about leading front-line operations while maintaining superior service standards. Each Shift Manager position supports one specific restaurant concept — Eataly, Momofuku, or Starbucks — and candidates will be placed accordingly without juggling between multiple brands. This role is ideal for individuals eager to take on high-visibility leadership responsibilities in a dynamic airport environment and those interested in advancing their careers with a clear path to Assistant General Manager and beyond.

The Shift Manager will oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth openings, closings, and peak service periods. They will be responsible for holding team members accountable for maintaining speed, quality, and exceptional service delivery, while actively coaching staff to enhance performance in real time. The role also requires diligent attention to food safety, sanitation, and brand standards, all critical for the renowned reputations of the restaurants under HMSHost's management. Shift Managers will manage cash controls, inventory flow, and shift performance metrics effectively, ensuring operational efficiency. Additionally, they serve as the frontline problem solvers, quickly and professionally resolving guest and team member concerns. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience in restaurant or food and beverage operations
  • at least 2 years experience leading shifts or supervising teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • strong decision-making skills to run shifts independently
  • ability to maintain a visible and engaged leadership presence on the floor
  • flexible schedule availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • capability to perform well under pressure and motivate team members to exceed standards

Job Qualifications

  • 4+ years in restaurant or food and beverage operations
  • 2+ years leading shifts or supervising teams in a high-volume setting
  • proven ability to run a shift independently and make real-time decisions
  • strong presence on the floor, visible, engaged, and hands-on
  • flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
  • thrives under pressure and raises the bar for team performance
