Founded in 1950, Whataburger has grown to become a beloved brand, recognized for its delicious burgers and friendly atmosphere. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive work environment where team members, or Family Members as they are called, can learn, grow, and succeed. Whataburger is committed to leadership development, operational excellence, and community involvement, making it an attractive employer for those seeking both career growth and a positive workplace culture.

The Shift Leader role at Whataburger is a vital position that ensures smooth and efficient restaurant operations during every shift. This role involves leadership, coaching, and operational responsibilities that keep the restaurant running like a well-oiled machine. Shift Leaders are the driving force behind maintaining quality, service, and cleanliness standards at the restaurant. They work closely with the Restaurant Manager team to enhance leadership skills, build shift-management capability, and maintain a solid operational foundation.

As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for motivating and coaching Family Members to improve their skills and confidence, ensuring they deliver exceptional customer service. You will oversee shift operations, uphold food and workplace safety regulations, and help meet financial targets related to food cost, labor cost, and sales performance. This role requires collaboration and effective communication to foster a positive work culture and a strong team spirit, especially during busy periods.

Whataburger offers competitive weekly pay and flexible schedules with day, night, evening, and overnight shifts available. Additional benefits include paid time off, a 401(k) match up to 4%, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, short-term and long-term disability benefits, and opportunities for career development leading to a six-figure income. Employees also benefit from the Whataburger Family Foundation's scholarship program for dependents, free English-language learning, no-cost college-level courses, discounted meals, wireless service discounts, and fitness or gym discounts, among other perks.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch customer experiences. The Shift Leader position offers a meaningful career path with opportunities to grow within the company and impact the success of the restaurant and the development of its team members. Working at Whataburger means joining a company that values integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence, all while having fun and making a difference every day.
