Job Description

Whataburger is a beloved American fast-food restaurant chain renowned for its iconic burgers and commitment to quality and community since 1950. Known for its orange-and-white-striped buildings and fresh, made-to-order food, Whataburger has grown into a cherished brand with locations across the southern United States. The company prides itself on fostering a family-oriented culture that values integrity, leadership, and teamwork. Employees at Whataburger, often referred to as Family Members, are encouraged to grow personally and professionally within the company. Whataburger offers a dynamic work environment where leadership skills are honed through hands-on experience and ongoing career development opportunities. This approach has established the company as a leading employer in the fast-food industry, consistently recognized for its positive workplace culture and commitment to employee welfare.

The role of Shift Leader at Whataburger is a pivotal management position focused on maintaining operational excellence throughout each shift to ensure the restaurant operates smoothly and efficiently. As a Shift Leader, you will be the driving force that keeps the team energized and motivated, overseeing day-to-day activities such as quality control, customer service, and team performance. This role requires someone who can lead by example, mentoring and coaching Family Members to improve their skills and confidence. Shift Leaders collaborate closely with the Restaurant Manager to build shift management capabilities, enhance operational procedures, and uphold Whataburger's high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and workplace safety. This is an hourly position offering competitive weekly pay, flexible schedules including day, night, evening, and overnight shifts, and a comprehensive benefits package. The position also opens a clear career path toward higher leadership roles within the company, with opportunities to earn six-figure incomes as you advance. This role is based at the restaurant location, but may sometimes require leadership assistance at nearby locations or participation in broader company meetings and training sessions. If you are enthusiastic about taking on responsibility, driving team success, and contributing to a brand that values heart and bold leadership, a Shift Leader role at Whataburger offers a rewarding and growth-oriented career opportunity.
