As a Shift Leader at Whataburger, your role is pivotal in driving the restaurant's operational success during each shift. The Shift Leader acts as a catalyst in coordinating the team to maintain smooth operations ensuring customers receive the best possible experience from their food preparation to timely service. Responsibilities include leading and motivating the Whataburger family members on shift, coaching new hires and seasoned employees alike to excel in their roles, and helping meet business objectives such as managing food and labor costs while adhering to safety and sanitation protocols. Shift Leaders collaborate closely with Restaurant Managers, sharpening their leadership expertise and reinforcing the company’s high standards.

Job Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- possess a high school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience
- be able to meet business needs and have open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours, and maintain dependable attendance
- have ability to stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs, and meet physical demands
- experience coaching or leading teams
- possess ServSafe Food Certification or ability to obtain during training

- Be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties
- Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards
- coach, train, and motivate family members, helping new hires ketchup quickly and seasoned pros turn up the heat
- support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes
- uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements
- foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture
- prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running like a well-oiled fryer
