Job Description

Whataburger is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain established in 1950, known for its commitment to quality, community, and leadership development. Operating primarily in the United States, Whataburger has grown from a single location to a beloved regional powerhouse with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering a supportive workplace culture. This company prides itself on investing in its employees, promoting from within, and offering extensive career growth opportunities to its team members. Whataburger's brand is synonymous with bold leadership, team collaboration, and a passion for serving with heart and integrity.

The Shift Leader position at Whataburger is a vital role that ensures the restaurant operates smoothly and efficiently during each shift. This role demands a leader who can motivate and coach Family Members, maintain high standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and safety, and drive operational excellence. As a Shift Leader, you will work closely with the Restaurant Manager team to develop your leadership abilities and contribute meaningfully to the day-to-day success of the restaurant. The role offers flexible schedules, including day, night, evening, and overnight shifts, making it adaptable to various lifestyles and commitments.

In this role, you are the spark that keeps the restaurant running efficiently, managing resources and guiding the team to deliver exceptional service even during the busiest times. You will lead by example, fostering teamwork and accountability, while simultaneously creating an engaging, positive work environment that encourages personal and professional growth. Your influence extends beyond the immediate duties, as you'll be instrumental in supporting Whataburger's goals related to food costs, labor costs, sales performance, and inventory management.

Whataburger also offers competitive weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, 401(k) matching, and competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage. The company supports long-term success and career advancement through educational programs like the Whataburger Family Foundation scholarship, free English-language courses, and tuition assistance for college-level courses. Additional perks include meal discounts, wireless service discounts, computer and software discounts, fitness and gym discounts, recognition programs, and retirement celebration programs.

Whataburger is a place where leadership is cultivated, teamwork thrives, and individual contributions are valued. The Shift Leader role is perfect for someone looking to make a tangible impact, sharpen their leadership skills, and grow within an organization that values integrity, collaboration, and bold progress. Whether you are beginning your leadership journey or seeking to advance your career in the fast-food industry, Whataburger offers the tools and support to help you succeed and excel.
