The role of Shift Leader at Whataburger is pivotal to ensuring operational success and delivering exceptional customer experiences every day. As a Shift Leader, you will be instrumental in driving the restaurant's performance by managing shift operations, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team of Family Members. Your responsibilities will include coaching and motivating employees, supporting food safety and compliance, and overseeing day-to-day activities to ensure smooth shifts. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience
  • Be able to meet business needs and have open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours
  • Maintain dependable attendance
  • Have ability to stand up to 10 hours
  • Lift up to 55 lbs
  • Meet physical demands
  • Have experience coaching or leading teams
  • Possess or be able to obtain ServSafe Food Certification

Job Qualifications

  • Possess ServSafe Food Certification or ability to obtain during training
  • Experience coaching or leading teams
  • Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
  • High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet business needs with open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours and lift up to 55 lbs

Job Duties

  • Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards
  • Coach, train, and motivate Family Members helping new hires ketchup quickly and seasoned pros turn up the heat
  • Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes
  • Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements
  • Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture
  • Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running like a well-oiled fryer
