The role of Shift Leader at Whataburger is a critical leadership position focused on managing the operational success of the restaurant during shifts. The Shift Leader’s responsibilities encompass leading and transitioning shift operations, maintaining high standards for food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety, supporting financial goals related to food cost and labor cost, fostering teamwork and accountability, providing coaching and training for Family Members, and complying with all regulatory and operational policies. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent experience, demonstrate flexibility with work hours, and have physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift items as needed. Experience in coaching or leading teams, strong multitasking and communication skills, and ServSafe Food Certification (or the ability to obtain it) are required.

Shift Leaders mainly work at their home restaurant but may assist neighboring locations or participate in leadership training and business meetings that align with Whataburger’s growth and development philosophy.
