Job Description

Whataburger is a well-established fast-food restaurant chain known for its commitment to quality, leadership development, and community values. Founded in 1950, Whataburger has grown into a trusted name in the quick-service industry, famous for its fresh, made-to-order burgers and a customer-first approach that values integrity and teamwork. With a presence across multiple states, Whataburger prioritizes investing in its people, providing opportunities for growth, and fostering a positive work culture. The company is dedicated to supporting its employees not only professionally but also personally, offering various programs such as scholarships and hardship assistance to its team members and their families.

As a Shift Leader at Whataburger, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of daily restaurant activities. This leadership position serves as the driving force behind each shift, delivering operational excellence and maintaining high standards of service, quality, and cleanliness. You will be responsible for motivating and coaching Family Members, helping them improve their skills, and build confidence to deliver the best customer experience. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, the ability to multitask during busy periods, and a collaborative spirit to foster teamwork and communication among the staff. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you'll support business goals by managing labor costs, food costs, inventory processes, and compliance with food and workplace safety standards.

The position offers competitive weekly pay with flexible scheduling options, including day, night, evening, and overnight shifts. Paid time off, 401(k) match, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage, are part of the benefits package. Employees also have access to educational support such as free English-language courses, reduced tuition for degree pathways, and scholarships for dependents. Whataburger emphasizes career development with a clear progression path, including the prospect of reaching six-figure income levels for operating partners. Additional perks include discounted meals, wireless service, computers, software, fitness programs, and recognition awards. The role is based primarily in your home restaurant but may require occasional support at other locations within the Market, involving business meetings, training sessions, and leadership development activities. Whataburger is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion and participates in the federal E-Verify program.
