Whataburger is a renowned fast-food restaurant brand that has been serving delicious, made-to-order burgers since 1950. Known for its commitment to quality, customer service, and community involvement, Whataburger has grown into a beloved icon in the fast-food industry. The company prides itself on fostering a positive work culture that values teamwork, integrity, and leadership development. Employees at Whataburger are considered part of a family, where collaboration and mutual support help drive continued success and growth within the organization.
The Shift Leader role at Whataburger is a pivotal position that directly impacts the smooth operation of the restaurant during every shift. The Shift Leader is responsible for leading shift management, maintaining high-quality service, food safety, and cleanliness standards. This position involves coaching and motivating team members, driving operational excellence, and ensuring that restaurant goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales, and inventory are met. The Shift Leader works closely with the Restaurant Manager to develop leadership skills, strengthen operational capabilities, and support the overall growth of the team.
This role offers competitive weekly pay and a flexible schedule with day, night, evening, and overnight shifts available to accommodate various lifestyles. Whataburger provides an extensive benefits package including paid time off, 401(k) matching up to 4%, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Additionally, the company offers unique career development opportunities with a clear path to higher income levels, including six-figure earning potential for Operating Partners.
Beyond the operational responsibilities, Whataburger also invests in education and employee well-being through the Whataburger Family Foundation, offering scholarships and hardship grants for dependents. Employees can also take advantage of free English-language learning courses, no-cost college-level classes, and reduced-tuition degree pathways to further personal and professional growth. Additional perks include discounted meals, wireless service, computer and software discounts, fitness and gym discounts, and various awards and recognition programs.
As a Shift Leader, you will embody Whataburger's core values by leading with integrity, serving with heart, and winning as one team. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy coaching others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to grow their leadership skills. The role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and maintain dependable attendance with flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts. Whataburger is committed to providing an inclusive work environment and promotes equal employment opportunities for all qualified individuals.
Working primarily at your home restaurant located at 1405 Highway 332, Clute, TX, you will be the driving force behind successful shift operations. On occasion, you may support neighboring locations or participate in broader market leadership initiatives. Regular training sessions and leadership meetings will help keep you connected to the company’s mission and equip you with the tools to advance your career.
Joining Whataburger means joining a company that values each team member’s contribution and provides the support needed to move forward boldly in your career. If you are ready to take your leadership potential to new heights and make a difference with every shift, Whataburger is the perfect place to start.
