A Zaxbys Shift Leader oversees the people, processes, and products necessary to execute a successful shift. Shift Leaders serve as mentors and coaches, developing team members’ skills and fostering a culture of high performance. They prioritize the guest and team member experience by resolving complaints professionally and maintaining a positive work environment.
Shift Leaders also play a critical role in operational management by receiving truck deliveries, performing inventory counts, and monitoring food production to uphold food safety and quality. They communicate shift goals clearly and motivate their team to achieve those objectives while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Managers in this role will collaborate with the broader management team to develop and track goals that enhance overall restaurant performance.
This position requires a flexible schedule, including the ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Duties
- Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan
- complete food safety certification
- follow any additional training required by Zax LLC
- create a culture of high performance and train and coach team members to meet company standards
- mentor, coach and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to the general manager
- prioritize guest and team member experience and resolve complaints respectfully
- create and maintain positive culture and team morale through recognition and leading by example
- communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability
- delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
- maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxbys franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures
- ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
- enhance guest experiences by ensuring team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
- receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
- manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective actions when necessary
- track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and satisfaction
- plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
- collaborate with management team to develop goals and report back on goal progress
- ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations
- follow company cash management policies
- maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
- utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current records
- maintain an attitude of flexibility to perform beyond position description parameters
- ensure team works safely and follows all safety guidelines
- immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to general manager and district manager
- escalate other concerns to supervisor as appropriate
- perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly
