The role of a Shift Leader at Zaxbys is a dynamic and essential position responsible for overseeing the people, processes, and products necessary to execute a successful shift. Shift Leaders set shift goals, assign tasks, and ensure all operational procedures are followed meticulously while responding promptly to guests’ needs and concerns. Job Requirements

- Must have reliable transportation
- Available to work 9 to 28 hours per week
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of background check
- Demonstrates leadership qualities
- Organizational skills
- Ability to interact cooperatively with others
- Leadership experience preferred

Job Duties
- Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan, food safety certification, and any additional training required by Zax LLC
- Create a culture of high performance and train and coach team members to meet all company standards
- Mentor, coach and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to the General Manager
- Prioritize the guest and team member experience and resolve complaints and concerns in a friendly and respectful manner
- Create and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by example
- Communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform at their highest ability level
- Delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
- Maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxbys Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
- Enhance guest experiences by ensuring team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
- Receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
- Manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action when necessary
- Track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guest satisfaction
- Plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
- Collaborate with management team to develop goals and report back to management on goal progress
- Ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations
- Follow company cash management policies
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
- Utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current records
- Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description
- Ensure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures
- Immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to General Manager and District Manager
- Escalate other concerns to supervisor when appropriate
- Perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly
