The Shift Leader role is a critical position within each restaurant location, responsible for overseeing daily operations during a shift and ensuring that team members perform at their best. Shift Leaders at Zaxbys are charged with managing the people, processes, and product quality necessary for a smooth and enjoyable customer experience. This role allows the individual to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced environment, gain exposure to restaurant management, and contribute directly to the restaurant's success. Job Requirements
- Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan, Food Safety Certification, and any additional training required by Zax LLC
- must be 18 years of age or older
- must have reliable transportation
- available to work 9 to 28 hours per week

Job Duties
- Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan, Food Safety Certification, and any additional training required by Zax LLC
- create a culture of high-performance and train and coach team members to meet all company standards
- mentor, coach and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to General Manager
- prioritize guest and team member experience and resolve complaints and concerns in a friendly and respectful manner
- create and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by example
- communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability level
- delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
- maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxbys Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures
- ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
- enhance guest experiences by ensuring that team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
- receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
- manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action when necessary
- track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guests’ satisfaction
- plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
- collaborate with management team to develop goals and report back to management on goal progress
- ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations
- follow company cash management policies
- maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
- utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current records
- maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description
- ensure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures
- immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to General Manager and District Manager
- escalate other concerns to supervisor when appropriate
- perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly
