The role of Shift Leader at Zaxbys is a crucial management position that oversees the daily operations during a work shift. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for managing the people, processes, and products essential to the smooth execution of your shift. This includes setting shift goals, assigning tasks to team members, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards, and delivering an excellent guest experience by promptly addressing any concerns or complaints. The Shift Leader is also a mentor and coach, helping team members develop their skills and reach their full potential while contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

This position offers a competitive pay range of $15.00 to $17.00 per hour and an employment type that offers flexible scheduling options, including part-time hours typically ranging from 9 to 28 hours per week. Job Duties

  • Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan, Food Safety Certification, and any additional training required by Zax LLC
  • Creates a culture of high-performance and trains and coaches team members to meet all company standards
  • Mentor, coach and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to General Manager
  • Prioritize the guest and team member experience and resolve complaints and concerns in a friendly and respectful manner
  • Create and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by example
  • Communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability level
  • Delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
  • Maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxbys Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
  • Enhance guest experiences by ensuring that team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
  • Receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
  • Manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action when necessary
  • Track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guests’ satisfaction
  • Plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
  • Collaborate with management team to develop goals and report back to management on goal progress
  • Ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations
  • Follow company cash management policies
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
  • Utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current records
  • Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description
  • Ensure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to General Manager and District Manager
  • Escalate other concerns to supervisor when appropriate
  • Perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly
