Zaxby's is currently expanding its team and hiring for the role of Shift Leader at its Kannapolis, NC location. The Shift Leader position is a critical role responsible for overseeing the daily operations during a shift, including managing people, processes, and products to ensure excellent guest experiences and smooth business operations. Shift Leaders at Zaxby's set shift goals, assign tasks to team members, ensure compliance with food safety and operational standards, and respond to customer needs with professionalism and care. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Available to work a minimum of 5 days and 32 to 40 hours per week
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of background check
- Demonstrates leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively with others
- Leadership experience preferred

Job Duties
- Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan, food safety certification and any additional training required by Zax LLC
- Create a culture of high-performance and train and coach team members to meet all company standards
- Mentor, coach and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to the General Manager
- Prioritize the guest and team member experience and resolve complaints and concerns in a friendly and respectful manner
- Create and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by example
- Communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability level
- Delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
- Maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxbys Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
- Enhance guest experiences by ensuring that team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
- Receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
- Manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action when necessary
- Track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guest satisfaction
- Plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
- Collaborate with management team to develop goals and report back to management on goal progress
- Ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations
- Follow company cash management policies
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
- Utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current records
- Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description
- Ensure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures
- Immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to the General Manager and District Manager
- Escalate other concerns to supervisor when appropriate
- Perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly
