The role of Shift Leader at Zaxby's is a dynamic and pivotal position aimed at overseeing the operational success of each shift within the restaurant. The Shift Leader sets goals for the shift, delegates tasks effectively, coaches team members, and responds promptly to both customer needs and any operational issues. The employment is typically full-time, with hours structured between 32 to 40 per week, offering a flexible schedule inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Available to work a minimum of 5 days and 32 to 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Successful completion of background check
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively with others
  • Leadership experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan and Food Safety Certification
  • Create a culture of high-performance and train and coach team members to meet all company standards
  • Mentor, coach and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to General Manager
  • Prioritize the guest and team member experience and resolve complaints in a friendly and respectful manner
  • Create and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by example
  • Communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability level
  • Delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
  • Maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxbys franchising policies and procedures
  • Ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
  • Enhance guest experiences by ensuring team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
  • Receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
  • Manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action
  • Track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders
  • Plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
  • Collaborate with management team to develop goals and report progress
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Follow company cash management policies
  • Maintain compliance with laws and guidelines
  • Utilize management tools and keep accurate records
  • Maintain flexibility and perform duties beyond position description
  • Ensure team works safely and follows safety protocols
  • Report human resources and risk management concerns to management
  • Perform all other duties necessary for restaurant operations
