In the role of Restaurant Shift Lead, Texas Roadhouse offers a unique opportunity to be a crucial part of the front line leadership team. The Restaurant Shift Lead is responsible for assisting the management team in maintaining high standards of service and food quality across shifts in either the front or back of house. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage guest flow, monitor ticket times, enforce compliance with liquor laws, and maintain food safety protocols. The position demands a versatile individual comfortable with temporarily stepping into various roles including hosting, serving, or cooking when necessary. By hosting various promotions and motivating staff through fun incentives and alley rallies, the Shift Lead plays a vital role in ensuring an enjoyable and efficient dining atmosphere.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to perform physically demanding tasks

  • legal eligibility to work in the country

Job Duties

  • helping to maintain projected costs and labor during scheduled shifts
  • hands on supervision of the restaurant including occasional temporary non-scheduled assistance with serving, hosting, cooking, and other duties
  • hosting promotions and alley rallies
  • helping make sure staff is following established recipes and procedures
  • helping enforce applicable liquor laws and responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • helping to control the guest flow and monitoring ticket times
  • in conjunction with all management, enforcing compliance with all employment policies in areas of responsibility
  • coaching employees to maintain consistency in food and service to increase sales
  • 100 percent table visits if applicable
  • understanding, managing, and practicing safe food handling procedures
  • maintaining culture and core values: passion, partnership, integrity, and fun with purpose
  • working during peak business hours to set the pace in front or back of house
  • creating a fun, safe environment by following core values and operational goals, and implementing contests, theme nights, and creating incentives for the staff
