Job Description

Running Aces Casino Hotel Racetrack, located at 15201 Running Aces Blvd, Columbus, MN, is a premier entertainment destination combining a race track, casino, hotel, and a variety of dining and event spaces. The Front of House Shift Manager position at Running Aces Casino Hotel Racetrack is a crucial role within the Food and Beverage Department. This position primarily focuses on overseeing evening into overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, ensuring that all aspects of food and beverage operations run smoothly and efficiently during these hours. The manager will be charged with maintaining high standards of service and compliance with company policies while supervising a dedicated team. The Shift Manager must monitor employee performance continuously and provide constructive feedback and coaching to enhance skills and service quality. Additionally, the manager will escalate any operational deficiencies to the Director of Food and Beverage and provide recommendations for improvement as part of the leadership team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational capabilities, and the skills to prioritize departmental goals effectively. Confidentiality and the capacity to provide feedback to people with different experience levels are also essential. The ability to obtain and maintain a Minnesota Class III Gaming License is required, demonstrating compliance with regulatory standards.

Job Duties

  • Enforces performance standards, policies and procedures in the Food and Beverage Department to ensure compliance with Company expectations
  • Responsible for scheduling, training and performance management of Food and Beverage employees to ensure staffs compliance with all customer service and operational needs
  • Ensure all day-to-day operations run in the most efficient way possible
  • Reviews and approves all recommendations to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and disciple all Food and Beverage employees in a fair and equitable manner
  • Maximizes cost effectiveness within the Department, by creating and ensuring compliance with established budget, labor and revenue benchmarks
  • Responsible for the intake, review and action of customer complaints in Food and Beverage
  • Monitors and evaluates job performance of Food and Beverage employees and managers, to provide feedback and coaching in order to enhance skills
  • Escalates operational deficiencies to Director of Food & Beverage
  • provides suggestions from leadership team on recommendations for improvement
  • Sets priorities for the Food and Beverage team
  • Special projects and other tasks as needed by Director of Food & Beverage
