As a vibrant part of the hospitality industry, the Pueblo operates various restaurants and entertainment outlets that emphasize integrity, fairness, and collaboration. The company's philosophy focuses on fostering an inclusive and dynamic workforce, prioritizing communication and recognition to ensure ongoing success and growth within the community. By cultivating a team-oriented environment, Pueblo of Sandia not only attracts and retains qualified personnel but also offers opportunities for career advancement and development in hospitality and service roles.
The position available is for a Food and Beverage Server within one of Pueblo of Sandia's esteemed restaurants. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests by providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service. A Server at Pueblo of Sandia is responsible for handling guests' orders accurately and promptly, serving both food and beverages, and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction and hospitality. Working under general supervision, the server adheres to established service guidelines tailored for the specific outlet, ensuring that all food and beverage activities comply with quality and safety regulations.
In this role, the Server is also a key member of the customer service team, acting as an initial point of contact for guests and ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously. The position demands a strong knowledge of the menu offerings—including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation—as well as familiarity with beverage selections, including wines, cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks. Servers are expected to promote menu items and special promotions effectively, utilizing upselling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction and drive revenue.
Beyond the fundamental responsibilities of order taking and serving, Servers are required to manage payments accurately using various methods such as cash and credit card transactions, follow food safety and hygiene regulations meticulously, and participate actively in daily team briefings to stay informed about property information and marketing efforts. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of dining areas is also part of the role, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests.
The role requires physical stamina as well as interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, and handle challenging guest situations with tact and diplomacy. This position demands a strong commitment to upholding the standards of the organization and ensures compliance with all legal requirements concerning alcohol service and food safety.
Employees in this capacity benefit from a structured progression path, starting from Server to Lead Server or Trainer, moving on to Bartender, Supervisor, and ultimately Manager. All team members must successfully complete required certifications such as the New Mexico Food Handlers course and Alcohol Server's Certification, along with passing background checks and drug screenings.
Joining the Pueblo of Sandia as a Food and Beverage Server provides a unique opportunity to be part of a reputable organization dedicated to excellence in hospitality, personal growth, and community engagement. The position offers a dynamic work environment where professionalism, guest service excellence, and teamwork are highly valued, making it an ideal career choice for motivated individuals passionate about the food and beverage industry.
