The Restaurant Server role at The Palms Hotel and Spa is central to crafting memorable dining experiences through exceptional food and beverage service. This position requires accurately, efficiently, and courteously serving food and beverages that meet the high standards set by the resort. The server engages with guests by greeting them promptly, presenting menus and specials, answering questions about the menu, including allergens and beverage selections, and efficiently entering orders into the POS system. Coordination with the kitchen and bar is essential to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of orders. Throughout the dining experience, the server provides attentive and friendly service, manages guest checks, and upholds the standards for wine service. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness, assisting with take-out orders, seating, and promoting daily specials.

Beyond customer service, the Restaurant Server plays a vital role in maintaining compliance with health, sanitation, food safety, and fire and security protocols. Active participation in ongoing training and meetings ensures adherence to The Palms’ sustainability guidelines as part of its Inspired by Nature Program. This role demands physical stamina with requirements such as standing and walking continuously, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and working flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior experience in upscale dining or resort settings is preferred, alongside certifications in food handling and alcohol service if applicable.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of restaurant, hotel, resort or upscale dining experience preferred
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • basic computer/POS skills
  • food handler and responsible vendor certification preferred if applicable
  • alcohol service training certification preferred
  • ability to stand and walk continuously throughout scheduled shifts
  • frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist and carry trays
  • work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures
  • work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
