The role of Restaurant Server is an integral position within the Food and Beverage team. As a Restaurant Server, you take personal ownership to ensure all actions reflect the best interests of the business. You will be at the forefront of guest interactions, responsible for actively taking orders, conducting full and complete food and beverage service, and monitoring guests' dining experiences from start to finish. This position requires interacting with guests in a polite and courteous manner, ensuring gracious hospitality while anticipating guests' needs and providing personalized attention throughout their meal. The Restaurant Server is expected to provide a positive and professional attitude, manage station assignments efficiently, and complete all assigned opening and side work duties.

Critical duties include greeting guests promptly, making food and beverage suggestions, answering questions, and effectively presenting information in individual and small group settings. You will need to utilize salesmanship skills to enhance the dining experience responsibly, ensuring guests enjoy their meals without over-ordering. Accurate ordering, timely delivery of food and beverages garnished and presented to high standards, and adherence to all health and sanitation regulations are essential. The Restaurant Server is also responsible for monitoring guests for signs of intoxication or disruptive behavior, refusing alcohol service when necessary in a safe and courteous manner, and reporting concerns to management.

This role demands attention to detail, including proper table settings, food presentation, and tableside preparation. At shift end, with guidance from management, you will close your station by completing all closing and side duties efficiently. Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are crucial, alongside the ability to work independently while maintaining high performance and business standards. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18/21 years of age, depending on the restaurant venue
  • 1+ years in a similar role
  • Must possess or be able to complete RBS training and certification for alcohol service
  • Must possess or be able to complete ServSafe/Food Handler’s training and certification
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials
  • Basic math skills

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18/21 years of age, depending on the restaurant venue
  • 1+ years in a similar role
  • Must possess or be able to complete RBS training and certification for alcohol service

  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Basic math skills
  • 2+ years in a similar role preferred
  • Sports knowledge as necessary

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional guest service, portraying a positive and professional attitude
  • Acquire station assignments from the Host team or management at the start of the work shift
  • properly complete all assigned opening and side work duties
  • Accurately checks identification of guests who appear under 30 years of age and prevents underage service
  • Greet guests immediately, make suggestions, and answer questions regarding food, beverages, and service
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests
  • Make recommendations for food and beverage menu items based on guests’ preferences
  • Engage with guests in a friendly, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive manner
  • Practice salesmanship to augment the dining experience without allowing guests to over-order
  • Take and record food and beverage orders from guests according to the dining sequence of service
  • Ensures all food and beverages delivered and served are served promptly, garnished correctly, and meet the quality/presentation standards
  • Monitors guests for signs of intoxication and disruptive behavior, identifies when to refuse alcohol service in a safe and courteous manner, and reports it to management
  • Properly present the guest check and process payment for all food and beverages served
  • Provide attention to detail, including proper table settings, food presentation and tableside preparation
  • With direction from management, close the station at the end of the shift, completing all closing, side work, and checkout duties in a timely manner
  • Complies with the department of health and business sanitation standards
  • Other duties as assigned
