Job Requirements
- One year experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant or food service establishment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course upon hire
- Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License upon hire
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
- Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Must maintain punctual and regular attendance in accordance with the Attendance Policy
- Must be able to balance, climb, crawl, crouch, feel, demonstrate finger dexterity, grasp, hear, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, see, walk, sit, stand, stoop, and talk as required to perform job functions
- Must adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and responsible alcohol service regulations
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors and be prepared for exposure to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, dust, and odors
- Must maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene.
Job Qualifications
- One year experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant or food service establishment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Preferred high school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent
- Knowledge of menu offerings including ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation
- Knowledge of beverage selection including wines, cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic options
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously including taking orders, serving tables, and processing payments
- Ability to follow instructions
- Strong commitment to the organization
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public and be attentive to customers' needs
- Ability to navigate dynamic and fast-paced environments maintaining composure and professionalism
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and pass a basic math test
- Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food and drink preservation
- Knowledge of tribal, federal, state, and local sanitary regulations regarding the preparation, maintenance, storage, and sales of food and drink products
- Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
Job Duties
- Provide excellent customer service and establish guest perception of exceptional hospitality and friendliness
- Manage orders from guests, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to special requests while coordinating with kitchen and bar staff
- Promote menu items, specials, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue through upselling and suggestive selling techniques
- Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing alcohol service, including age verification and responsible beverage service practices
- Monitor and intervene service to guests who appear intoxicated, handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, notify an on-duty supervisor to follow up with the guests
- Maintain thorough knowledge of property information regarding restaurants, entertainment, lounges, marketing promotions, upcoming events, and local points of interest
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and any forms of payment according to established procedures
- Perform all opening and closing side work duties as assigned by management
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings to ensure property information is understood
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, responsible alcohol service guidelines to ensure guest well-being and compliance with legal requirements
- Work as part of a cohesive team, assisting fellow team members as needed, fostering a positive and supportive work environment
- Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and organization of dining areas including tables, chairs, and condiments stations to provide a pleasant and inviting environment and adhere to food safety regulations
- Communicate with supervisors and/or managers regarding guest issues that need addressing
- Serve as the initial point of contact for guest inquiries in a courteous and attentive manner
- Reflect a sense of trust, comfort, and understanding by demonstrating empathy for guests when problems occur
- Resolve all issues in a timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and exceeding expectations
- Build relationships with guests based upon respect, confidence, and maintain a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ensure punctual and regular attendance according to the assigned schedule in compliance with the Attendance Policy
- Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
