The open position is for a Restaurant Server who serves as the frontline ambassador for the restaurant component of the 21c Museum Hotels experience. Reporting directly to Restaurant Managers and the Food & Beverage Director, the Restaurant Server plays a crucial role in delivering a memorable dining experience that complements the hotel’s overarching artistic vision. This role requires an engaging personality combined with expert knowledge of the menu, beverages, wines, and specialty drinks, helping guests navigate their dining choices with confidence and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate must be adept at interpreting both verbal and non-verbal cues from guests to make personalized recommendations, ensuring even the most hesitant diner leaves satisfied. The Restaurant Server works efficiently and accurately, prioritizing tasks to exceed guest expectations while maintaining a cheerful and professional demeanor. Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- experience in an upscale dining environment preferred
- able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- responsible, dependable, punctual
- basic math skills
- strong communication skills including ability to speak, read, and understand English
- clean and professional appearance
- able to pass a background check
- able to carry a full-service tray comfortably
- able to stand and walk for long periods
- able to lift at least 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

- familiarity with and ability to use POS systems
- able to pass a background check

Job Duties
- Report to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts
- follow all steps of service
- know descriptions and ingredients of all menu items
- know all wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category on the wine list
- know drinks names, ingredients, preparation method, appropriate glassware, and garnishes
- know specialty beverages such as single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, beer list
- sell menu items to increase overall sales
- serve beverages and food cheerfully and efficiently
- ensure that the service station is properly stocked
- complete all posted side work
- maintain a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests
- provide prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift
- maintain a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area
- assist and execute any tasks as assigned by supervisor
- follow all proper sanitation guidelines
