Job Description
Our restaurant portfolio situated within The Eastern Iowa Airport comprises distinguished dining establishments, including the Cedar Ridge Barrell House and The High Porch. These venues are highly regarded for providing exceptional food and beverage experiences to travelers and visitors passing through the airport. The Server position we are seeking to fill is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and customer-focused setting. This role offers a set schedule with shifts from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., providing early morning service coverage. The position pays $12.00 per hour plus tips, indicating a strong earning potential through excellent guest interactions and service efficiency. As a Server, you will play a key role in enhancing the dining experience by greeting guests promptly with friendliness and professionalism, taking accurate food and beverage orders, and ensuring timely delivery of these orders. You will be skilled at inputting orders into the point of sale system, managing cash transactions accurately, and maintaining a well-stocked and clean bar area. The job also involves preparing fresh garnishes daily to uphold product quality, and adhering strictly to all State, Federal, and Corporate regulations related to serving alcoholic beverages responsibly. This includes careful identification of patrons to prevent service to minors or intoxicated guests, aligning with legal compliance and company policies.
The role requires a candidate with at least six months of experience working in a retail or food service environment. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed a high school diploma and possess the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in basic math skills necessary for handling cash registers, including making change, totaling guest checks, and managing cash drops throughout the shift. Additionally, the position requires a valid food handler's permit and any brand certifications as mandated by law or company standards.

- Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks, count bank, prepare cash drops
- Food handlers permit as required by law

- Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products
- Other duties as assigned

Job Duties
- Greet guests in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner
- Use recipes and practice portion control to mix, garnish, and present drinks
- Input orders into register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest
- Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed
- Always maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests at all times
