Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, operating a vast portfolio of award-winning properties across the world. At the heart of Marriott is the Ritz-Carlton brand, which represents the pinnacle of luxury service and unparalleled guest experiences. Established on a foundation of exceptional quality and dedication, The Ritz-Carlton continually sets the standard for rare and special luxury service in the hospitality sector. Operating from its prestigious location at 100 Carondelet Plaza, Clayton, Missouri, this particular Ritz-Carlton property exemplifies Marriott's commitment to excellence, cultural inclusion, and guest satisfaction. The company prides itself on fostering an empowering and inclusive work environment where associates are valued for their unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences. Marriott International is committed to equal opportunity employment, encouraging diverse voices and embracing all individuals regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected category.

The position of Guest Service Expert at The Ritz-Carlton, Clayton, offers a full-time, non-management role pivotal to the dining experience of every guest. As a Guest Service Expert, you will be essential in creating memorable and unique experiences that extend beyond the food and beverages served. Your responsibilities will range from setting tables and communicating efficiently with kitchen staff to actively engaging with guests to ensure they feel welcomed, appreciated, and cared for. This position requires both physical stamina and excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be on your feet for extended periods, moving around the venue, and managing various tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and positioning objects of up to 50 pounds with assistance. Additionally, you must be comfortable walking and standing on surfaces that might be uneven or slippery, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe workplace.

This role demands top-notch professionalism, adherence to company policies, and a strict commitment to quality standards. Maintaining a neat uniform, a positive and respectful demeanor, and clear communication is crucial while representing the luxurious brand of The Ritz-Carlton. The Guest Service Expert is not only responsible for operational tasks but also acts as a critical ambassador of Marriott's Gold Standards—principles that drive the culture and operational excellence of the Ritz-Carlton globally. These standards include the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, which collectively aim to provide guests with service that is gracious, thoughtful, and consistently outstanding.

Ideal candidates will have at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with less than one year of related work experience. While supervisory experience and certifications are not required, enthusiasm for creating remarkable guest experiences and a hands-on approach to work are essential. Shifts may cover day and evening hours, with weekend and holiday availability preferred. The position also offers an opportunity to earn tips and other service charge-based compensation, making it an appealing choice for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest service.

Joining The Ritz-Carlton at Marriott International means becoming part of a global community dedicated to leveraging unique skills and creativity to elevate luxury hospitality standards. Here, you will have the chance to pursue your purpose, belong to a diverse and supportive team, and develop into your best professional self while contributing to unforgettable guest experiences. Your work will focus not just on satisfying guest needs but on crafting moments that guests will cherish long after their stay.
