We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Servers to join our team. Servers at Mad Town Gastropub start with a competitive wage of $2.35 per hour plus tips, averaging between $28 to $32 per hour in total earnings. As a Server, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service to guests by answering questions regarding our menu, offering food and beverage suggestions, and ensuring accurate order processing using the POS system. You will prepare portions of various dishes like soups, salads, desserts, and coffee, and closely observe guests to anticipate their needs and deliver additional services as requested. Beyond taking and inputting orders, servers handle billing and payments by balancing open and closed checks, clearing tables between courses, and maintaining cleanliness around service areas. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to remember menu details, and a friendly, professional demeanor to enhance each guest's dining experience.

Job Requirements

6 months experience working in retail or food service environment preferred
High school diploma preferred
Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders
Experience dealing with customer service problems
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops
Food handlers permit as required by law
Brand certification as required
Ability to remember, recite, and promote variety of menu items
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods

Job Qualifications

High school diploma preferred

Job Duties

Answer questions and offer suggestions regarding food, beverages, and services of the facility
Accurately input orders into the POS system
Prepare dishes for service, to include ladling soup, tossing salads, cutting portions of pie and desserts, and brewing coffee
Observe guests to anticipate their needs and respond to any additional requests
Clear all dishes away from table
Balance and reconcile all assigned open and closed checks by totaling bills and accepting payments
Clear and reset all counters or tables at the conclusion of each course
Other duties as assigned
