Our restaurant portfolio in The Eastern Iowa Airport includes Cedar Ridge Barrell House and The High Porch, two distinguished dining spots known for delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences to travelers and locals alike. We are currently hiring Servers for our airport restaurant locations. The role of a Server is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment, engaging with guests courteously, and ensuring that each dining experience runs smoothly. Servers are responsible for greeting guests promptly, taking and inputting orders accurately using point of sale systems, and facilitating payments, all while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role also involves handling food and drink preparation in line with set recipes and portion controls, including the mixing and garnishing of drinks. Moreover, Servers must follow strict adherence to state, federal, and corporate policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated individuals, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.
This position offers a competitive rate starting at $6.75 per hour plus tips, with an average hourly income ranging between $22 and $25. The work schedule features set shifts, allowing employees to plan their time effectively. Job Requirements
- 6 months' experience working in retail or food service environment
- high school diploma preferred
- verbal and written communication
- ability to read, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with guests and take orders
- experience in dealing with problems involving customer service
- basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops
- food handlers permit as required by law
- brand certification as required
- ability to remember, recite, and promote variety of menu items
- ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check
- ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
- perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
- other duties as assigned

Job Duties
- Greet guests in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner
- use recipes and practice portion control to mix, garnish, and present drinks
- input orders into register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest
- receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed
- maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar
- maintain stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests at all times
