The role of Restaurant Server at Aperture Hotels plays a crucial part in ensuring guests have a pleasant and comfortable dining experience during their stay. This position involves comprehensive responsibilities related to food preparation, service, and cleanup, with an emphasis on cleanliness, guest interaction, and adherence to health and safety regulations. The Restaurant Server aids management and supervises full menu service upon request, manages bussing tables during dinner and guest functions, and maintains cleanliness by promptly cleaning spills and public areas. The role also entails completing state-required food service training, greeting guests warmly, ensuring coffee urns are kept full, and reporting any problems to management. Attention to detail is paramount in practicing high standards of food handling, correctly using chemicals and equipment, maintaining proper food and beverage setups, and complying with company policies, especially those related to serving alcoholic beverages.
Further responsibilities include maintaining security awareness, following emergency and safety procedures, proper key control, and assisting other departments as necessary. The position requires the server to be flexible with shifts, self-motivated with the ability to work independently, highly organized, and capable of following instructions meticulously. Candidates with a high school diploma or GED, customer service experience in the hospitality industry, and familiarity with hotel operation systems are preferred. Job Duties
- Aid manager/supervisor with menu full service as requested
- Bus tables during dinner and special guest functions
- Clean any spills immediately and maintain clean public and work areas at all times
- Complete food service training as required by state laws
- Greet all guests coming into food service areas and check with guests to make sure everything is to their liking
- Keep coffee urns full
- Notify manager of any problems or guest comments
- Practice the highest standards of cleanliness during food handling
- Properly use all chemicals and equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines
- Set up and maintain all food and beverage items during any hours of food service, meeting room, and/or special guest functions ensuring proper amounts and temperature
- Strictly adhere to company policies and procedures with regard to serving alcoholic beverages, wine and beer
- Upon completion of food service, clean up the area in accordance with standards and procedures
- Remain aware of any and all potential security problems and report them to your supervisor and/or the GM/MOD
- Follow emergency procedures, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), safety precautions and safest work habits
- Follow proper key control procedure for issued keys
- Carry out any reasonable request by management
