The Hillsboro Club is an exclusive oceanfront private residence club located in the picturesque setting of South Florida. Founded in 1925, this prestigious club offers its members and their guests a luxurious and serene environment surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful inland waterway of Lighthouse Point. Spanning 15 acres of lush tropical landscaping with over 1,000 feet of private sandy beach, The Hillsboro Club combines natural beauty with high-end amenities to create a one-of-a-kind experience for its esteemed members. The Club features 144 Florida-style rooms and suites, many offering balconies with breathtaking views ranging from oceanfront to garden and inland waterways. The Hillsboro Club is currently seeking an experienced Restaurant Server to join the Food and Beverage Department at this stunning property. This seasonal part-time position is hourly, with competitive compensation ranging from $20 to $21 per hour, paid biweekly. As part of the employment package, employees have access to health insurance and opportunities for advancement within the company. The Club operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the ideal candidate must be flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Restaurant Server role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of dining and service that the club’s members and guests expect. This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional dining service, as well as delivering beach and poolside service to enhance the overall guest experience.

The Restaurant Server at The Hillsboro Club is expected to provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service that reflects the luxury and exclusivity of the club. This includes attending to member and guest needs promptly, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment. The server should be knowledgeable about the club’s menu offerings, wine selections, and special preferences of members, fostering a personalized service approach that promotes guest satisfaction and loyalty. Responsibilities also entail setting up workstations, managing multiple courses during service, handling cash and credit transactions with care, and supporting the Food and Beverage Manager with various operational duties. The position demands someone passionate about hospitality who thrives on delivering a memorable dining experience in a luxurious setting.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Two years of comparable wait service experience preferred
  • Ability to greet and acknowledge members and guests
  • Knowledge of menu, buffet, and wine list
  • Ability to time the service of each course
  • Knowledge of wines and spirits
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Provide food and beverage service to club members and their guests
  • Set up workstation and perform assigned side (prep) work
  • Provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating
  • Make sure that children are in the appropriate type of seat and are safe and secure
  • Distribute food and wine menus and answer questions
  • Learn members names and their special menu preferences
  • Fill glasses with ice water and suggest menu items
  • Ensure that the correct account numbers and names are given for billing
  • Efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections
  • Place orders with kitchen and inform cooks about any special cooking instructions
  • Assemble food on tray and procure items from each station as necessary
  • Serve meals and place dishes by courses in front of each person
  • Check back to ensure member and guest satisfaction and replenish water and butter as necessary
  • Remove soiled dishes, clear tables after each course and reset them with appropriate silverware
  • Present dessert menus, make suggestions, and serve desserts, coffee, and after-dinner drinks
  • Verify accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips, and other charges on all checks
  • Present bill/check to members
  • Handle all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures
  • Keep dining room and bus station areas clean
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables that have been vacated
  • Advise supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur
  • Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
  • Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by the Dining Room Captain, Dining Room Supervisor, Dining Room Manager, or Outlet Manager
  • Turn in signed tip declaration form weekly
  • Thank members and guests and invite them to return
  • Consistently follow local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests
  • Perform other appropriate duties assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager
