The Food Server role at Live! by Loews - St. Louis is pivotal in delivering an outstanding dining experience to guests. This position requires maintaining an in-depth knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to provide accurate and engaging information to guests. Responsibilities include setting up and managing assigned stations, professionally greeting and interacting with guests, and suggestively selling menu items to elevate the dining experience. Food Servers are expected to accurately record orders, monitor meal preparation and presentation, and ensure timely service that aligns with high service standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in food service in a high volume, upscale setting
  • Knowledge of food terminology and sanitation standards
  • Strong guest service skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Physical ability to lift trays up to 35 pounds repeatedly
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

  • Thorough knowledge of food terminology, food service techniques and sanitation standards

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift trays weighing up to 35 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Maintains current knowledge of all menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation, presentation and timing
  • Sets up assigned station with all required supplies
  • Greets guests politely and professionally according to Loews standards
  • Suggestively sells menu items to enhance guest dining experience
  • Records guests’ orders accurately and enters orders into POS terminal
  • Coordinates order placement to ensure consistent timing throughout meal
  • Monitors preparation and presentation of food items to ensure quality
  • Serves food and beverages according to Loews standards
  • Anticipates guest needs, responds promptly to requests and ensures satisfaction
  • Prepares and presents accurate guest checks, collects payment and applies charges using POS
  • Completes end-of-shift revenue report and cash deposit
  • Performs side work duties as assigned
  • Promotes teamwork and notifies management of any issues
  • Complies with safety regulations, uniform standards, and hotel policies
  • Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
  • Attends meetings and training sessions
  • Recycles where possible
  • Remains informed on hotel information and changes
  • Executes emergency procedures as required
