Established in 1937, Sheraton has grown into a global leader in the hospitality industry, with more than 400 communities worldwide, inviting guests to gather, connect, and enjoy thoughtful service in welcoming environments. As part of Marriott International, Sheraton embodies a rich heritage of service, innovation, and diversity, providing employees with robust career opportunities and an inclusive atmosphere where unique backgrounds and talents are celebrated. The organization prides itself on fostering a culture of belonging, teamwork, and respectful engagement, ensuring that each associate contributes meaningfully to the brand's mission of being "The World's Gathering Place." Sheraton is dedicated to equal employment opportunities, welcoming applicants from all walks of life and ensuring a nondiscriminatory workplace.
The role of Food and Beverage Server at Sheraton is integral to delivering an exceptional dining experience, serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests while upholding the brand's high service standards. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional capable of setting tables according to event type and service protocols, answering guests' inquiries about menu options, and collaborating closely with kitchen staff to address meal preparation questions, dietary restrictions, allergies, wait times, and availability of menu items. The Food and Beverage Server is also responsible for accurately recording transactions through the MICROS system, ensuring guests' satisfaction throughout their dining experience, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas, including china and glassware.
In addition to service duties, the Food and Beverage Server must adhere strictly to company safety and security policies, report any safety concerns, complete required training and certifications, and uphold professional appearance standards. Interaction with guests is a critical aspect of the role, encompassing warm welcomes, addressing service needs promptly, assisting guests with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation to foster a hospitable environment. Effective communication skills, teamwork, and responsiveness to colleagues' concerns underpin the collaborative culture at Sheraton. This position also includes physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, and maneuvering objects of moderate weight, underscoring the need for stamina and dexterity.
Sheraton's Food and Beverage Server role is a full-time position, ideal for candidates passionate about hospitality and guest service excellence. With a minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related work experience, this job offers a solid entry point into the hospitality industry with a globally recognized brand. While this role does not entail supervisory responsibilities or require certifications, it offers rich opportunities for personal and professional growth within a dynamic, multicultural team committed to delivering quality and maintaining high standards. Joining Sheraton means becoming part of a global hospitality family where associates are supported and encouraged to be their best selves, contributing to an engaging work environment that values dedication, diversity, and guest-centric service.
