Job Description
The Georgia Club is a prestigious private club strategically located near the University of Georgia, conveniently positioned between Atlanta and Athens. The club is renowned for its stunning 27-hole golf course designed by esteemed architect Denis Griffiths, who has an impressive portfolio of golf course designs both throughout Georgia and internationally. Among its facilities, The Georgia Club proudly features the traditional 18-hole Chancellor’s Course, which spans nearly 350 acres and is celebrated for its natural beauty year-round. Members enjoy breathtaking views highlighted by majestic pine trees, vibrant azaleas, and dogwoods that create an exceptional golfing experience. The course itself boasts a challenging 74.6 course rating and a 130 slope rating, making it a sought-after destination for golf enthusiasts.
In addition to golf, The Georgia Club offers resort-style amenities that foster a healthy and active lifestyle. These include a comprehensive golf practice facility, pickleball and tennis courts, a fully equipped fitness center, aquatic facilities, and a spacious 35,000-square-foot clubhouse that serves as the social and recreational hub for members. The club strives to provide an environment where members can enjoy premier recreational opportunities alongside exceptional service and hospitality.
The Front-of-House Service Staff role at The Georgia Club is pivotal in delivering an outstanding dining experience to guests and members alike. This position is focused on interacting warmly and professionally with guests, ensuring their needs are met with attentiveness and efficiency. The role requires staff members to create a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel important, comfortable, and relaxed throughout their dining experience.
Servers at The Georgia Club are responsible for preparing tables by laying out napkins and utensils, replenishing condiments, and performing other preparatory tasks essential to the smooth operation of the dining area. Staying well-informed about the menu—including current selections, daily specials, and any changes or shortages—is essential to provide accurate information and assist guests effectively. The ability to handle table bookings, guide customers to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, and advise on drink choices is fundamental to the role. Additionally, servers must communicate specific customer preferences and needs to the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are executed to perfection.
Maintaining an impeccable dining experience encompasses timely delivery of food and beverages, fulfilling any guest requests, offering desserts and drink options, clearing courses promptly, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses when needed. Knowledge and skills in wine service, including properly opening and pouring wine tableside, are also integral to the position. Handling all forms of payment accurately, including cash transactions, is required, alongside performing basic cleaning duties to uphold the establishment’s high standards. This role also involves providing support during special events and filling in for absent staff members to maintain smooth service.
The Georgia Club seeks individuals who consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards and who can articulate the club’s products and services clearly and positively. Given the club's high standards and commitment to excellence, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest service to grow in a prestigious environment with a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage plus gratuities. By joining The Georgia Club team, service staff become vital contributors to an exceptional member and guest experience in one of Georgia's premier private clubs.
