Job Description
The Counter is a well-established restaurant located in Cupertino, California, at 20030 Stevens Creek Boulevard. Known for its commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience, The Counter strives not only to meet but to exceed guest expectations by offering high-quality food and outstanding hospitality. The establishment focuses on cultivating a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, professional growth, and customer service excellence. Whether you are looking for a part-time job or pursuing a career in the restaurant industry, The Counter offers an inspiring and supportive workplace designed to equip its staff with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the fast-paced food service industry.
Working at The Counter as a Server comes with extensive hands-on training and well-defined guidelines to help employees understand what is expected from them. The focus is on delivering warm, professional, and knowledgeable service to guests, ensuring each dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. The restaurant values attention to detail and encourages its servers to actively contribute to a vibrant work environment by being punctual, patient, and efficient. The role is particularly suitable for individuals who have a passion for food and customer service and can perform well in high-pressure, busy settings. With a standard part-time schedule, The Counter makes it easy for new applicants to jump into the role with immediate interviews offered during business hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.
The Server position is best suited for candidates with prior experience in fast-paced dining establishments or similar front-of-house roles such as wait staff, runners, restaurant crew members, or other customer service roles within a restaurant. However, The Counter is also open to training the right candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to exceptional guest experiences. Applicants are encouraged to bring a warm and outgoing personality, teamwork spirit, and a calm demeanor, even during busy periods. Knowledge and familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems are important for the efficient handling of orders and payments. Additionally, fluency in English is required while proficiency in other languages is considered a valuable asset. A valid food handler card, or the ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment, is also a mandatory requirement.
The hiring process at The Counter has been simplified to ensure easy access for prospective employees. Instead of submitting traditional resumes or calling, candidates are encouraged to apply via the ZippyApp application system. This system allows for quick submissions of the Common Employment Application, resume, and cover letter. In the cover letter, applicants should provide a brief description of themselves and explain why they would be an excellent addition to The Counter team. This innovative approach streamlines the recruitment process and supports a growing number of businesses adopting similar application platforms. Overall, The Counter is dedicated to creating a rewarding work environment where employees can develop valuable skills and gain meaningful experience while contributing to a memorable dining experience for its guests.
