The role of Restaurant Operations Manager at Ugly Dumpling is integral to maintaining and enhancing the restaurant's success. This full-time, seasonal, part-time, contractor, or internship position offers a dynamic work environment where individuals who thrive in leadership roles can significantly impact the business. Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Assistant General Manager, the Operations Manager oversees both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations. This role demands a hands-on approach to managing daily operations, ensuring food and beverage quality meet brand standards, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

The Restaurant Operations Manager is responsible for leading and motivating the team to achieve service excellence and business goals. This involves supervising opening and closing duties, cash handling, staff coaching, and development initiatives. The role includes conducting pre-shift meetings, providing on-the-spot feedback, and fostering a positive environment that encourages guest satisfaction and repeat business. The manager also plays a crucial role in recruitment, training, and supporting staff growth, which are vital for sustaining a high-performing team.

In addition to operational oversight, the Restaurant Operations Manager collaborates on financial management tasks such as labor cost control, inventory maintenance, and sales performance monitoring. Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment
  • strong leadership and team-building abilities focusing on coaching and mentoring
  • exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • experience with bar operations is a plus
  • understanding of restaurant operations including FOH and BOH workflows
  • familiarity with POS systems, scheduling tools, and inventory management
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • capable of standing and walking for 8+ hours per day
  • ability to lift and push 30 lbs
