The Assistant Manager role at Chicken Salad Chick is a dynamic position crucial to the restaurant's overall success. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant Manager supports daily operations, ensuring seamless service and adherence to the brand's high standards. This position involves all facets of restaurant management, including team leadership, maintaining facility cleanliness, enforcing policies and procedures, managing cash controls, and promoting a positive work environment. Assistant Managers act as brand ambassadors, embodying the Chicken Salad Chick culture and upholding the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities include overseeing food preparation to maintain CSC standards, training employees to foster a motivated workforce, and managing administrative duties such as paperwork and inventory control. The role demands operational flexibility, requiring the Assistant Manager to fill in various positions as needed to guarantee smooth and efficient service delivery. Exceptional communication, organizational skills, and multitasking ability are essential, as well as proficiency with back-office tools and computer software learning agility.

This position also involves hands-on physical tasks, such as lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for extended periods in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Candidates should have at least one to two years of related experience or equivalent education and training. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and exert mobility including bending and stooping for the workday duration
  • Ability to perform duties at any station in kitchen or service area
  • Understanding of restaurant policies and personnel management
  • Commitment to customer service excellence
  • Understanding of health, safety, cleanliness and fire regulations

Job Qualifications

  • One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Working knowledge of back office tools
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new computer software

Job Duties

  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Chicken Salad Chick
  • Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and training programs
  • Ensure all guests feel welcome and receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service
  • Ensure products are prepared and served according to CSC standards
  • Achieve objectives for sales, service, quality, facility appearance, sanitation and cleanliness by training employees and fostering a positive work environment
  • Control cash and receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures
  • Operationally fill in as needed to maintain guest service standards and efficient operations
  • Develop staff in managerial and professional areas
  • Prepare required paperwork, forms, and reports timely
  • Ensure correct receipt and condition of products and proper delivery procedures
  • Set clear shift expectations and create a role model working environment
  • Address and celebrate guest feedback
  • Monitor food and equipment inventories and maintain records
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, cleanliness, security, and fire policies
  • Administer prompt, fair corrective action for personnel policy violations
