Job Description
Whataburger is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain with a rich history dating back to 1950. Known for its iconic burgers and commitment to quality, Whataburger has established itself as a beloved brand in the food service industry. The company is dedicated to fostering a positive work environment where integrity, teamwork, and customer satisfaction are at the forefront. Whataburger values bold leadership and continuous growth, making it an excellent place for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact while advancing their careers.
As a Restaurant Manager at Whataburger, you will play a critical role in overseeing a high-volume restaurant, typically with annual sales exceeding $4 million and a team of over fifty Family Members. This role is tailored for dynamic leaders who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional food and customer service. You will be responsible for creating an atmosphere where great food, great service, and great teamwork converge every day. The Restaurant Manager position is designed to rotate through Customer, Quality, and People Areas of Responsibility (AORs) to develop comprehensive leadership skills and prepare for future opportunities as an Operating Partner.
The position offers competitive weekly pay and a bonus program with significant upside potential. In addition, the benefits package is robust, including paid time off, paid holidays such as Christmas, and paid parental leave. Whataburger also provides a 401(k) match up to 4%, competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, short-term and long-term disability benefits, as well as opportunities for career development and a clear pathway to a six-figure income. Employees and their dependents can benefit from the Whataburger Family Foundation, which offers scholarships and hardship grant assistance, comprehensive education benefits including free English language learning and college-level courses, discounted meals, wireless service discounts, computer and software discounts, fitness and gym discounts, and various awards and recognition programs.
The Restaurant Manager will lead daily operations, ensuring quality, service, and cleanliness standards are consistently met. You will champion hospitality and guest service standards, coach and develop your team to reach their full potential, and be responsible for achieving restaurant goals across sales, labor, food cost, and profitability. Ensuring food safety, workplace safety, and adherence to brand standards is paramount. You will also model Whataburger's core values and foster a positive, inclusive work environment. Leadership responsibilities include managing shift transitions, overseeing hiring, training, and retention efforts, supporting business planning, conducting performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is based primarily in your home restaurant but may require occasional support at neighboring locations or within the broader market. You will participate in business meetings, training sessions, and leadership development opportunities to stay connected and grow within the Whataburger organization. Whataburger is committed to equal employment opportunities and prides itself on a diverse and inclusive work culture. The company participates in the federal E-Verify program and adheres to all applicable employment laws. If you are ready to lead with integrity, serve with heart, and move forward boldly in your career, Whataburger offers the perfect platform for your professional growth.
