Job Description
Whataburger is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain that has been serving delicious burgers since 1950. Headquartered at 8800 Six Pines Dr, Shenandoah, TX, Whataburger prides itself on its commitment to quality, hospitality, and community involvement. Known for its bold leadership and strong company culture, Whataburger is a place where potential grows and every team member is empowered to make a difference. The brand is dedicated to creating an inclusive work environment where great food, exceptional service, and teamwork come together daily. With over seven decades of history, Whataburger has built a reputation for investing in people who lead with integrity, serve with heart, and bring their unique flavor to the table.
The role of a Restaurant Manager at Whataburger is a significant leadership position responsible for managing a high-volume restaurant with average annual sales exceeding $4 million and overseeing a team of more than fifty Family Members. This role involves comprehensive oversight of daily restaurant operations, ensuring adherence to quality, service, and cleanliness standards, and delivering an authentic Whataburger guest experience. The Restaurant Manager is expected to rotate through Customer, Quality, and People Areas of Responsibility (AORs) to develop well-rounded leadership skills and prepare for advancement to Operating Partner roles.
As a Restaurant Manager, you will support operational performance, cultivate a team environment that emphasizes development and growth, and work collaboratively with your Operating Partner and other leaders. Your leadership will drive improvements that strengthen restaurant operations and enhance customer satisfaction. This role offers competitive weekly pay with a bonus program offering up to 2.5 times upside potential, paid time off including paid holidays and parental leave, and a 401(k) match program, alongside competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Whataburger also provides extensive opportunities for professional development, including scholarship and hardship grant programs through the Whataburger Family Foundation, access to free educational resources, and career pathways leading to six-figure income potentials.
In this role, you will lead daily operations, champion hospitality standards, coach and develop team members, manage sales and profitability goals, and ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards. You will foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, facilitate smooth shift transitions, guide talent development efforts, and support continuous business improvements. Your leadership will help maintain Whataburger's strong reputation for quality, service, and teamwork.
Working as a Restaurant Manager at Whataburger not only provides a chance to lead in a dynamic restaurant environment but also access to comprehensive benefits and a supportive company culture where diversity and equal opportunities are deeply valued. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities and participates in the federal E-Verify program to uphold compliance. If you have leadership experience, a passion for quality service, and a commitment to team development, Whataburger offers a rewarding career path with growth, education, and leadership opportunities.
