Job Description
Flynn Group was founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn, beginning with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants. Over the next two decades, Flynn Group experienced significant growth through building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, becoming the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world. Today, Flynn Group owns and operates over 460 Applebee's locations across 24 states, forming a robust foundation that enabled expansion into other brands, geographic regions, and industries. The Flynn Group's portfolio has diversified to include some of the most iconic and recognizable brands, such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This diversification reflects the company’s commitment to excellence in the hospitality and food service sectors.
Flynn Group is recognized as the largest franchise operator in the world, with Applebee's being one of its seven premier brands. The company emphasizes core values of genuine care for people, a champion's competitive spirit, and teamwork — encapsulated in their mantra to Care Genuinely, Play like a Champion, and Win as One. Their mission focuses on operating each franchise brand at the highest level of quality and guest satisfaction.
The role of Applebee's Assistant Manager at Flynn Group entails engagement with all day-to-day operational tasks within the restaurant. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial leadership role, fostering passion for the Applebee's experience among both guests and team members. This position demands excellent problem-solving abilities, the capacity to handle stressful situations gracefully, and teamwork skills. Assistant Managers are expected to contribute actively to the friendly, efficient service that Applebee's is known for, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.
In this role, the Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards in customer service, team member training and development, inventory management, safety, sanitation, scheduling, and quality control. The leader fosters a positive culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's Premier Card values and encourages an atmosphere where employees thrive. They also play a critical role in addressing guest complaints promptly and ensuring consistent guest engagement through required table visits.
The Assistant Manager is expected to collaborate closely with General Managers and Area Directors, contributing to inventory control, labor management, and the overall operational success of the restaurant. The role requires hands-on involvement, including the ability and willingness to work in all restaurant positions when necessary, such as line cooking, bartending, or hosting.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $78,000 annually, reflecting the importance of the role within the company. Flynn Group provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee wellbeing and professional development, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, flexible scheduling, paid training, and retirement savings through a 401(k) plan with company matching.
Flynn Group operates with a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, fostering a workplace where every employee can succeed. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities during the hiring process and employment. Overall, this position is ideal for motivated leaders passionate about the food service industry, committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences, and eager to grow within one of the largest and most respected franchise operators worldwide.
