Job Description
Dram Yard Restaurant at ARRIVE Hotel Wilmington is a beloved dining establishment situated within the ARRIVE Wilmington hotel, offering a unique blend of Southern coastal flavors with a global twist, crafted using locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant creates an intimate and thoughtfully designed environment where guests can savor breakfast, barista service, weekend brunch, and dinner in a welcoming atmosphere. As a local favorite, Dram Yard attracts residents and visitors alike who seek memorable culinary experiences coupled with exceptional hospitality. The restaurant reflects the philosophy of Palisociety, the parent company, which is deeply committed to creating unique, neighborhood-centric places that inspire and delight guests through friendly staff, trustworthy service, and engaging environments. Palisociety itself is a fully integrated hospitality company that manages a diverse portfolio of hotels and residences across the United States, including Palihouses, Palihotels, and ARRIVE by Palisociety. Founded in Los Angeles by CEO Avi Brosh in 1998, the company has steadily expanded its footprint by emphasizing spirited, hardworking, and passionate team members who value community and outstanding service.
The role of Restaurant Manager at Dram Yard is a critical leadership position responsible for the seamless operation of the restaurant's daily activities. This full-time management job requires a conscientious individual who is hospitality-driven and able to lead a dynamic team, ensuring that every guest enjoys a delightful experience that aligns with Dram Yard’s brand standards. This position entails overseeing all food and beverage functions within the hotel to maximize revenue, maintaining consistent service quality, and fostering an inviting atmosphere for guests. The Restaurant Manager will manage staff training and scheduling, inventory control, and event management, including booking and financial handling for onsite events. The position requires excellent problem-solving skills to handle guest concerns professionally, as well as strong organizational abilities to balance operational and administrative responsibilities effectively. Additionally, the manager will work closely with corporate teams to implement promotional strategies and menu development recommendations. Administrative duties include managing communications such as weekly email reports, hosting front-of-house meetings, and overseeing online reservation systems.
Candidates for this role should possess 3 to 5 years of senior management experience in overall food and beverage operations, preferably including banquet experience, and a solid service background. Flexibility in working both weekdays and weekends is essential due to the restaurant’s operational needs. The ideal manager must demonstrate proficiency in organizational software such as MS Office and Google Apps and hold a current ServSafe Food Handler Certification. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and continuous walking, standing, and bending throughout shifts.
Working at Dram Yard offers a competitive compensation package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Employees benefit from a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, holiday pay, and sick leave. Career advancement opportunities are available within Palisociety’s growing portfolio, with professional development programs designed to support success across various hospitality career paths. The company fosters a collaborative work environment where creative ideas are welcomed and valued, and employees can enjoy generous discounts on hotels and dining throughout the company’s extensive network. Dram Yard and its parent company, Palisociety, are committed to equal opportunity employment and inclusive workplace culture, encouraging diverse candidates to apply and grow with the organization.
