Job Description
Haley & Bear is a unique restaurant and bar concept inspired by the touching friendship between a child and their loyal dog, drawing its charm and atmosphere from classic literary works such as Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows. The establishment offers a warm, nostalgic environment where guests can experience heartfelt connections and exceptional service reflecting the deep bond between Haley and her canine companion, Bear. Known for its inviting ambiance and dedication to quality, Haley & Bear combines culinary excellence with a welcoming community spirit that resonates with both locals and visitors alike.
Joining Haley & Bear as an AM Manager on Duty offers an exciting management opportunity within this dedicated hospitality environment. This role focuses on overseeing the daily morning operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring that all aspects of service, food quality, cleanliness, and overall team performance are maintained to the highest standard. The Manager on Duty (MOD) acts as the leader during shifts, providing hands-on supervision and support to both front-of-house and back-of-house teams. The position involves responsibility for maintaining smooth and efficient operational flow, promptly resolving any guest complaints or issues, and fostering a productive and positive work atmosphere.
This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and an in-depth understanding of restaurant operations and customer service excellence. The MOD will monitor staff performance, oversee cash handling and financial documentation, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation protocols. Training and staff development are also key components of this role, as the MOD supports new hires and encourages ongoing professional growth. In the absence of the General Manager or Assistant General Manager, the MOD serves as the primary point of contact.
The position offers flexible scheduling with morning shifts from Thursday to Sunday and additional evening shifts from Wednesday through Saturday, making it an ideal role for candidates seeking cornerstone management experience within a vibrant, community-focused dining venue. Haley & Bear values professionalism, teamwork, and a customer-centric approach, placing guest satisfaction and high-quality service at the forefront of all operations. This role promises an enriching managerial experience for motivated individuals ready to contribute their expertise to a distinctive and heartwarming hospitality concept.
