Job Description

Hillstone Restaurant Group is a privately-held collection of upscale restaurants with more than 45 locations in vibrant cities across the United States. The company operates well-known establishments including Houston's, Hillstone, R+D Kitchen, Bandera, East Hampton Grill, South Beverly Grill, Honor Bar, Palm Beach Grill, and White House Tavern. Hillstone prides itself on delivering a high-quality dining experience characterized by attentive service, excellent culinary offerings, and a welcoming atmosphere. Their restaurants are situated in thriving urban settings and popular destinations such as East Hampton, NY, and Aspen, CO, making them staples in their respective communities and sought-after dining options nationwide.

Hillstone's summer internship is designed for rising seniors with a strong interest in pursuing a career in restaurant management or culinary management. This internship provides a comprehensive look into the restaurant business, with particular emphasis on daily operations and customer service. Interns gain practical experience by apprenticing in staff-level roles, which allows them to become familiar with the everyday demands of restaurant work including food preparation, floor service, and customer interaction. At the same time, the internship offers a window into management functions, giving participants exposure to responsibilities such as hiring, training, and coaching team members, managing inventory, and overseeing profit and loss (P&L) elements.

Assignments will be made based on the best fit for the intern and will place them within one of Hillstone's many restaurants across the country, with a central focus on locations in East Hampton, NY, and Aspen, CO. Compensation for the internship varies by location but averages at least $1000 per week, providing competitive pay for the summer program. Previous restaurant experience is beneficial for applicants but is not a mandatory requirement, making this internship an accessible opportunity for motivated students looking to explore the restaurant industry from multiple perspectives. Those interested in a career path in either management or culinary fields will find this program an invaluable stepping stone, learning firsthand the intricacies of both roles in a prestigious and well-regarded restaurant group.
