The Restaurant Manager role at Areas USA is a key leadership position responsible for assisting the Concept Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This full-time exempt position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the establishment by overseeing various operational aspects such as sales management, cost control, employee training and retention, guest service excellence, food quality assurance, and sanitation compliance. The Restaurant Manager is entrusted with supervising staff, ensuring service standards are upheld, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
The responsibilities include assisting with training personnel to ensure prompt, courteous service that aligns with food and beverage standards and company policies. The Restaurant Manager supports the Concept Manager with managerial development, staff meetings, and scheduling labor to meet business demands efficiently. They are accountable for handling cash and receipts in compliance with company procedures, managing inventory and waste recording, placing food orders, and ensuring equipment maintenance.
Moreover, this role requires a hands-on approach where the manager fills in operational gaps during shifts, handles guest complaints effectively, and maintains direct communication with guests to gather feedback. The manager must also ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and labor regulations at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels. The position involves regular physical activity including standing for long periods, climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Candidates for this role should possess an associate degree with at least two years of experience in front-of-house operations or assistant management within the restaurant industry. Required skills include proficiency in basic math and computer operations, the ability to lead a team successfully towards achieving organizational goals, and excellent customer service capabilities. Fluency in the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area is essential.

Job Duties
- Responsible for assigned shift and assisting in overall management
- Assist in overall supervision of the store
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures
- Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
- Assist the Concept Manager to develop staff in managerial and professional development
- Prepare paperwork, forms, reports, and schedules in timely manner
- Ensure equipment is clean and in excellent working condition
- Ensure correct product receipt and adherence to receiving procedures
- Observe, teach, and correct staff’s service
- Assist in scheduling labor as required by business activity
- Place food orders
- Assist with inventory and add waste to system
- Comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations
- Provide advice and suggestions as needed
- Assist in compliance with safety regulations
- Handle guest complaints
- Communicate with guests and receive feedback
- Follow up on training steps
- Stay in store during peak hours
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
