Job Description
Taco Bell is a leading fast-food restaurant chain renowned for its innovative Mexican-inspired menu and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. With thousands of locations worldwide, Taco Bell has established itself as a prominent player in the quick-service restaurant industry, focusing on quality, speed, and service. The brand prides itself on fostering a dynamic, inclusive work environment where employees are empowered to grow both personally and professionally.
Taco Bell is currently seeking a Restaurant General Manager (RGM) to provide overall leadership and direct supervision of operations at an individual Taco Bell unit. This pivotal role centers on driving the organized, efficient, and profitable management of the restaurant while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hospitality, accuracy, product quality, and speed of service are consistently met. The RGM serves as both a leader and hands-on operator, performing tasks as needed to train employees, resolve guest service issues, and model exemplary skills and behaviors. This position plays a vital role in fostering a productive team environment that supports the company’s goals and encourages continuous improvement and excellence.
As a key leader within the fast-paced quick service restaurant environment, the Restaurant General Manager will be responsible for controlling cost categories such as food, labor, cash, and controllable expenses to meet company guidelines and budgets. The role demands a proactive approach to staffing by ensuring adequate headcount across all shifts and day parts. Emphasizing positive sales growth, the RGM will work diligently to improve critical performance metrics including 5 Bells, CORE, speed of service, and food quality.
This leadership position requires strong interpersonal skills as the RGM will be heavily involved in the hiring, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluation of crew members, shift managers, and assistant general managers. Encouraging a culture of development and accountability, the manager will train the team to achieve expected certification levels and maintain a high degree of operational excellence. Ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws and maintaining a safe environment for employees and guests are crucial aspects of the role. Additionally, the RGM must oversee and enforce food service sanitation guidelines and regulations to uphold Taco Bell’s commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.
The Restaurant General Manager is also tasked with ensuring that the restaurant is well-maintained, coordinating preventative maintenance procedures, and reporting any necessary repairs. Beyond management responsibilities, the RGM may also prepare food and handle cash transactions as required to support the team and ensure smooth operations. The ability to monitor and report operational results to area coaches through daily and weekly communications further underscores the managerial scope of this position.
Success in this role will be measured by a variety of restaurant performance indicators including weekly sales, labor and cost control, food safety audit results, and turnover rates. The manager’s effectiveness will also be evaluated based on metrics like speed of service, customer feedback, food quality, and overall profitability.
This role is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses flexibility to work various shifts. Taco Bell values leaders who demonstrate excellent communication, strong organizational skills, sound decision-making, and a genuine desire to develop their team while advancing their own skills. If you are passionate about leading a successful restaurant team and delivering outstanding guest experiences, this opportunity at Taco Bell offers a rewarding and dynamic career path.
