Job Description

HopCat is a well-established restaurant brand known for its vibrant atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, and a commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences. As one of the Midwest's premier restaurant chains, HopCat prides itself on its dynamic management structure that empowers leaders to take ownership of critical business functions rather than simply managing shifts. The company emphasizes growth, leadership development, and accountability, fostering a culture where managers can truly influence their operations and build rewarding careers. HopCat values diversity and inclusivity, creating a supportive work environment with equal opportunity for veterans and people from various backgrounds. They believe that respecting individual differences enhances their team, enhances guest experiences, and positively impacts the communities they serve.

At HopCat, the Restaurant Manager role is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary, quarterly performance bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, and paid time off. This role is designed for individuals eager to lead a department, develop team members, improve operational systems, and drive measurable business results. As a Restaurant Manager, you collaborate closely with the General Manager while being entrusted with ownership of a key Area of Responsibility (AOR). This specialized focus allows managers to become subject matter experts in one segment of the restaurant operation—ranging from hospitality and guest experience, server team development, bar and beverage program leadership, to marketing and off-premise business management.

The position demands strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills, with a passion for hospitality and developing people. Managers are expected to manage labor and financial performance, uphold operational excellence, maintain food safety and cleanliness standards, and sustain high standards of guest service that contribute to an outstanding reputation, including a goal of at least a 4.6 Google rating in relevant departments. Leadership responsibilities include writing schedules, conducting quarterly one-on-one development conversations, leading department meetings, monitoring metrics, performing operational audits, and grooming future leaders within the team.

HopCat’s leadership philosophy revolves around five core values: respect, accountability, passion, teamwork, and integrity. These values guide daily interactions and decision-making within the restaurant, ensuring a cohesive and motivated team environment that drives the brand's success. The company also promotes career growth with opportunities to advance to Senior Manager, General Manager, and Area Director roles, supported by regular leadership training and ongoing development initiatives.

If you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is results-driven, enjoys taking accountability, and aims to make a tangible impact in a restaurant setting, HopCat offers a career-defining opportunity. The role offers not only a chance to lead but also to invest in personal growth and future leadership opportunities within the restaurant industry. Apply today at HopCat and start building your future with a brand that is better every day, stronger together, and ready to lead where it counts.
