The Assistant Manager position at Flynn Applebee's embodies a leadership role responsible for all day-to-day restaurant operations. Physical demands include the ability to work varied shifts of up to 10 hours, including weekends, standing and moving throughout the shift, lifting up to 50 pounds safely, and handling restaurant-related tools and tasks. This position requires someone adaptable who can also work in different roles within the restaurant as needed, from front-of-house activities like seating guests to back-of-house duties such as cooking or bartending.

Job Requirements
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends
- Ability to stand and move for up to 10 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely
- Ability to read and write for effective communication
- Finger and hand dexterity to use small tools and equipment
Job Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications a plus
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Ensures timely friendly service according to company guidelines achieving established objectives of the unit
- Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of our core values and beliefs
- Ensures immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
- Ensures guest contact with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
- Maintains departmental inventory levels
- Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
- Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
- Maintains effective safety and security programs
- Promotes and leads restaurant organization cleanliness and sanitation
- Performs routine maintenance and immediately reports to the General Manager or Area Director of needed repairs
- Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates
- Promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
- Helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation individual training sessions employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems
- Participates in employee development using one-on-one and performance documentation and contributes to written evaluations
- Assesses employee efficiency provides fair feedback regularly and works with employees on development
- Monitors acceptable employee performance and documents disciplinary or corrective actions
- Assures compliance with company policies practices and procedures
- Controls cost in assigned department
- Complies with local state and federal laws regulations and guidelines
- Drives bi-weekly or weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD or GM's request and is accountable for completion
- Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
- Assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and company standards
- Provides a role model for managers and employees
- Develops self on all store related technology
- Works in all positions and assists in team member positions as needed
- Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
