Job Description

Residential Restaurants serve as vital social hubs within our communities, embodying the spirit of connection, hospitality, and quality dining experiences. These establishments operate as more than just dining venues; they foster a welcoming environment where residents can gather, enjoy exceptional meals, and build relationships. Our Residential Restaurant is committed to delivering outstanding food and beverage services with an unwavering dedication to a service-first mentality. We pride ourselves on maintaining a high standard of excellence that encompasses both front-of-house guest interactions and back-of-house operational efficiency.

The role we are offering is that of a Restaurant General Manager who will be the charismatic and energetic leader essential to driving the restaurant's success. This position demands a dynamic individual who has a keen eye for detail and a firm grasp of food and beverage financials. The manager will actively participate as a working member of the Food and Beverage team, directly contributing to both front-of-house and back-of-house activities. The General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring efficient service, and facilitating seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining areas.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of staff, reinforcing adherence to performance standards that promote customer service, food safety, and operational efficiency. You will guide the team by holding members accountable to established standards, stepping in personally during busy periods to maintain smooth service delivery. A significant aspect of the role includes developing staff schedules that align with business trends and budget needs, completing bi-weekly payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations such as OSHA, ADA, and FDA standards.

Furthermore, you will take charge of conducting monthly inventories, reconciling stock levels, and overseeing budgeting, sales, and expenses to maximize profitability. This includes monitoring key financial indicators such as food costs, labor, and inventory management. Collaborating on the creation of quarterly and event-driven menus is also a critical part of this role, ensuring that offerings are innovative and aligned with community preferences. Participation in board and committee meetings to provide operational insights further underlines the strategic aspect of this position.

Supervisory responsibilities include managing a restaurant team whose size may vary depending on the site. The role involves carrying out supervisory duties in accordance with applicable laws and company policies, including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, mentoring employees, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, and addressing complaints effectively.

Success in this role requires an individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and expertise in training and developing staff to meet high standards. The candidate must also demonstrate knowledge of menu development, exceptional dining experience delivery, and operational streamlining. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate computer skills are necessary, along with a strong command of the English language.

Physical demands of the job include the ability to work under pressure, maintain composure during emergencies, lift up to 30 pounds, work prolonged periods standing or sitting, navigate efficiently within the property, and respond to emergencies and callouts promptly. The position may require working extended hours, weekends, occasional travel for training, and covering other community locations if needed.

As an equal employment opportunity employer, we value diversity and inclusiveness. All employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or any other protected status under federal, state, or local laws. Join us to be part of a vibrant community-focused restaurant dedicated to excellence in every aspect of food and beverage service.
