Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, embarked on its journey by acquiring 8 Applebee's restaurants. Over the past two decades, the company has grown significantly through the development of new stores and strategic acquisitions of other franchise operators, establishing itself as the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world. Flynn Group's solid foundation and expansive growth have enabled it to broaden its reach beyond Applebee's, extending into other well-known brands and diverse industries. Today, Flynn Group owns and operates over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states in the US, making it a dominant force in the franchise restaurant industry.
Flynn Group is not limited to Applebee's alone; it manages a diversified portfolio of seven premier brands, including Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This varied portfolio reflects Flynn Group's commitment to excellence and its mission to be the premier operator within each of these brands. The company's core values—Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One—are fundamental to its operations and shape the way it conducts business. By fostering a supportive culture and prioritizing guest and employee satisfaction, Flynn Group maintains its leadership status in the competitive franchise industry.
The role of Assistant Manager at Flynn Applebee's is a critical leadership position integral to the daily operations of the restaurant. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $64,000 per year and is based on-site at the restaurant location. As an Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will be deeply involved in all facets of restaurant management, from ensuring high-quality guest service and managing staff schedules to maintaining inventory levels and upholding cleanliness and sanitation standards. The role demands a team-oriented leader with strong problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage stress effectively.
Assistant Managers act as role models for both employees and managers, leading by example and driving the restaurant's culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee’s Premier Card of core values. They are responsible for creating an environment where guests have exceptional experiences and employees feel supported and valued. Essential duties include responding promptly to guest complaints, supervising food preparation and presentation, enforcing safety and security measures, and coordinating training and development programs for staff members. Assistant Managers also ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
The position requires active participation in daily restaurant operations, including working across various positions such as cooking, bartending, and guest seating when necessary. The Assistant Manager uses the company's Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth and must be committed to ongoing learning and professional development. The physical demands of the role include standing for extended periods, safely lifting up to 50 pounds, and working various shifts, including weekends.
Flynn Group is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, providing reasonable accommodations during the application process and employment. Prospective employees are encouraged to apply and join a premier team dedicated to excellence in the franchise restaurant industry.
