This project is a multi-level, 15,000-square-foot dining destination located inside the iconic Sony Building in Midtown Manhattan. It features three distinct dining concepts: the second New York location of the Michelin-starred COTE Korean Steakhouse, the all-day multi-bar and dining concept Chimera, and the intimate sushi restaurant Sushi Yoshitake, led by Michelin-starred Chef Masahiro Yoshitake. The Restaurant Manager role at 550 Madison is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic hospitality professional looking to work in a high-profile, upscale restaurant environment. The manager is responsible for the daily administration of the restaurant, including maintaining facilities and ensuring compliance with the Department of Health regulations. Job Requirements
- Minimum education level of high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous restaurant management experience preferred
- Ability to read speak and understand English
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations
- Must be reachable by email and phone
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends nights and holidays
- Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain
- Knowledge of Department of Health regulations and workplace safety procedures
- Familiarity with POS and restaurant management software
- Must be legally allowed to serve alcohol
- Certification or ability to obtain responsible alcohol service within 6 months
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts
- Must adhere to company grooming and appearance standards
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening

- Degree in Hospitality Culinary Management or similar preferred

Job Duties
- Promotes core values and culture of Chimera including excellence in food and beverage service and hospitality
- Liaises between front of house and culinary team during service
- Provides and oversees service for VIP customers when on property
- Develops positive customer relationships and addresses customer service needs
- Oversees daily restaurant administration including payroll opening closing administration service floor plans daily walkthroughs
- Manages hourly employees in daily responsibilities providing clear effective direction
- Creates systems of accountability and provides consistent feedback coaching and disciplinary action as needed
- Performs all back office POS functions including employee profile and menu creation
- Plans executes and communicates all promotions and company information effectively and efficiently
- Conducts Department of Health walk-throughs multiple times per day to ensure compliance and addresses violations promptly
- Promotes and practices safe work habits identifies and resolves potential safety hazards documents accidents investigates root cause of safety incidents
- Ensures all team members are educated on products and services
- Ensures Chimera drink and food recipes and procedures are followed maintaining highest quality and consistency
- Participates in community events to help meet corporate social responsibility goals
- Hires trains supervises manages coaches counsels and evaluates front of house hourly employees
- Acts as role model for outstanding service continuously elevates service standards embodies hospitality in daily actions
- Monitors coaches encourages management team and hourly service employees to meet company service standards
- Resolves team member or customer conflicts consistent with complaint handling guidelines
- Builds morale and team spirit by fostering work environment where team members input is encouraged
- Responsible for training new employees as assigned
