With a long-standing reputation as a brand builder, Neiman Marcus has consistently brought together the world's top luxury designers and customers, creating a devoted following over generations. The company operates 36 stores, alongside robust digital channels and remote selling platforms, serving a diverse clientele with a commitment to excellence. It is a key part of Saks Global's portfolio, which includes other world-class luxury retailers and real estate assets. Neiman Marcus is known for its innovative initiatives such as the Neiman Marcus Awards, Fantasy Gifts, seasonal campaigns, and "Retail-tainment" events that set it apart in the luxury retail sector.
The role of Restaurant Manager at Neiman Marcus in San Francisco, California, offers a unique and exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic restaurant team within a luxury retail environment. This onsite position commands a competitive salary range of $70,915 to $88,644, reflective of the importance and responsibility inherent in the role. As Restaurant Manager, you will oversee all facets of restaurant operations, ensuring the delivery of a luxury dining experience to all guests and maintaining the highest standard of professionalism. You will be instrumental in driving the restaurant team's performance by defining clear strategies that align with the company's vision for excellence.
Your partnership with senior leadership, including the Senior Restaurant General Manager, Regional Director of Restaurants, and Corporate Food Service, will be critical in addressing daily operational challenges and fostering a collaborative working environment. You will actively manage and oversee the dining rooms and kitchens, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, accurate reporting through POS systems, and fiscal responsibility through diligent review of profits and loss reports and inventory management. Additionally, this role involves supporting and overseeing restaurant promotions and special events, aligning your team with company goals and deadlines.
A significant aspect of your responsibilities will be to maintain and improve sanitation evaluations and seasonal shop reports, striving for a 90% or higher score. You will also play a vital role in building strong relationships with the client base to enhance customer loyalty and ensuring the enforcement of Neiman Marcus's policies and procedures.
Leadership is a cornerstone of this position, as you will coach, motivate, and develop your restaurant management team, ensuring adequate training and performance management. Effective communication is essential, requiring daily interaction with your team regarding business needs, scheduling, employee issues, and upcoming events. You will also act as a liaison, sharing pertinent restaurant updates with other department managers and participating in weekly department manager meetings.
This role calls for an individual with at least seven years of relevant experience, preferably holding a four-year degree. Candidates should demonstrate a solid track record of achieving results across various business settings, possess advanced financial analysis skills specific to restaurant profit and loss, and exhibit excellent communication capabilities to effectively counsel, resolve conflicts, and negotiate across organizational levels. Physical demands include the ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 35 pounds. Flexibility is key, as the schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Joining Neiman Marcus means entering a fast-paced, evolving luxury retail environment that values growth, transformation, and a "win together" mentality. Employees benefit from comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, a robust 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance, and various additional voluntary benefits. An attractive employee discount further enhances the overall compensation package, making this role a compelling opportunity for experienced restaurant management professionals eager to excel in a luxury retail setting.
