Job Description
BURGER KING is a globally recognized fast-food chain renowned for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food offerings. Founded in 1954, BURGER KING has established itself as the second largest fast-food hamburger chain worldwide, known famously as the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER. For over half a century, BURGER KING has committed to premium ingredients, unique signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences, maintaining a beloved brand presence for millions of guests daily. With more than 11 million customers visiting its restaurants worldwide every day, BURGER KING continues to uphold its tradition of excellence and innovation in the highly competitive quick-service restaurant industry.
The Restaurant Manager at BURGER KING serves as the executive leader responsible for the profitability, guest satisfaction, people management, and operational excellence of a single restaurant. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) oversees a dedicated team that typically includes an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20 to 45 Team Members. This pivotal leadership role involves managing all aspects of daily restaurant operations with a keen focus on maintaining high standards, boosting sales, and ensuring a seamless guest experience.
As the primary person accountable for the restaurant's profit and loss statements, the RGM actively monitors financial performance, reviews key profitability drivers, and implements strategies designed to maximize revenue and minimize costs. This role also emphasizes driving sales through exceptional guest service, effective people development, and operational management that aligns with BURGER KING's brand standards.
Furthermore, the Restaurant Manager is tasked with motivating and leading the team to exceed guest expectations by delivering fast, friendly, and accurate service in a clean and welcoming environment. They handle guest feedback directly, identifying root causes of any service issues and developing effective action plans to enhance customer satisfaction. In addition to guest relations, the RGM engages with the local community to connect with prospective customers and lead targeted marketing initiatives that boost the restaurant's visibility and appeal.
A critical component of the role involves talent management, including recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training new team members, guiding them through certification processes to ensure team competency. The Restaurant Manager fosters a positive work environment by providing coaching, feedback, and recognition programs that inspire peak performance and retention. Leadership skills are paramount, as the manager not only focuses on individual team development but also cultivates a cohesive team culture that aligns with BURGER KING's operational goals.
Operational responsibilities include managing restaurant labor efficiently through optimal scheduling, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies, and upholding strict adherence to operational and brand standards. In some cases, the Restaurant Manager may perform duties typically assigned to Assistant Managers or Hourly Shift Coordinators to maintain smooth operations. This role requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and the capability to work long or irregular shifts when necessary.
Employed full-time, this position at BURGER KING offers a dynamic and rewarding career path within a globally respected brand. BURGER KING prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, encouraging all qualified individuals to apply and contribute to the company's ongoing success. If you are passionate about leadership, customer service, and the fast-paced restaurant environment, the Restaurant Manager role at BURGER KING is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while making a significant impact on the restaurant's performance and guest experience.
